...and I've tried to simulate an overcharge situation, but just can't come up with the right chain of events to make it happen. Even with this inexpensive loader, they cleverly designed in enough safeties to make it mighty hard to dump too much powder with the included auto disc measure. But yet, there is no such thing as a perfect machine. Murphy can be a real jerk sometimes.

I'll be very interested to see what SA comes up with as a post mortem. At least all the big parts stayed together and you didn't end up with a face full of slide.

She is going back to Springfield tomorrow.

Thanks for the update, gunnut1. All things considered, that's a happy ending.

And I'm impressed with Springfield . . . replacing the whole gun for $250 is quite generous of them.
