Anybody ever deal directly with Taurus?

I ordered a new grip for my .38 Protector back before Thanksgiving and still don't have it. It was on back order and the CS guy told me 4 to 6 weeks. This was after being on hold for almost a solid hour.

I called last week and after nearly a half hour on hold (this is not a toll free number) the guy basically said "it's still on back order, you'll just have to wait."

Is this pretty typical of them? Never had that kind of experience with any other manufacturer.

When I worked at a local guns shop/sporting goods store Taurus was the worst customer service department I had ever dealt with. Period.

Heard and read nothing but bad things about Taurus CS, never dealt with them myself though. Dunno what you paid but you could trade it in and get a used S&W for around $300. Better company and weapon.

This is the route I would go. S&W is a great company that, from everything I have seen, will take care of you.

I have 3 S&W products right now, and I could easily see myself getting another in the future.
