I always figgered a 38 plus P is plenty for a snubbie.

I have a few revolvers and always wanted a Smith model 36 with 2 in barrel. Well, found one the other day for about $400 and it was tighter than ,,,,, well it was tight.... and the bluing was almost perfect. So, I got it. It is wonderful. What a gun.... It shoots great and love the old time looks and weight. Fast becoming one of my favorites. It won't be no safe queen. I plan to carry and shoot. Great gun.

There is no reason for someone to shoot 357 mag from a snubby. But the 357 snubby may eject fired 38 sp. brass better due to the longer ejector rod.

Shooting .357 mag. from an Airweight J frame can be punishing. However, if the frame is larger and/or has more weight, it's manageable. For example, a 2" Model 19 (K frame) has an acceptable recoil. There are things that can be done to the smaller frames to help them along, such as porting, a "bull" barrel, or larger absorbing grips.

Since the ejector for the .357 mag. is about 1/18" longer, it should pop out the shorter .38 spcl. brass better.

I still haven't bought my snubby. I am now looking into the EAA 2" 357. $264 out the door, I have a friend who his very pleased with his. One of my dealer says they great guns and he sells between 1 and 2 a week. They aren't light by any means though and they have a full grip. So shooting 357 out of it shouldn't be to bad.
