Put a deposit down on a Colt Python

I've been looking for one for a long time. I'd find them, but they weren't the length I was set on.

Yesterday, while picking up a Mossberg 930 SPX I was looking around the shop. Low and behold, a blued 4" Colt Python was sitting, waiting for me. They just got it the day before. LUCKY!!!

The serial number starting in 55xxx means it was made in 1966. The gun looks new. It's absolutely immaculate. So I went ahead and put a deposit on it. I'm so excited!

I'll be picking it up very early August or before, depending on how much I get done in the glass shop. I can't freaking wait.

I'll update this with pics once I procure my unicorn.

Good question.

Air Force Ace, I know a guy who has a 4" Colt Python made in the late 60's that he inherited from his father and is asking $1500 if you (or anyone else) is interested. It too is immaculate and has actually never been fired. There are NO carbon marks on the front of the cylinder and there is BARELY a ring around the cylinder that advances the action. The ring is almost imperceptible. PM me if you want his contact info.

I stumbled across a matching pair of 1974 models that had sequential serial #s. Blued with 6" tubes. The finishes were flawless and looked unfired. The seller wanted 2,800 for the pair, which I think was a pretty good $. I probably would have been divorced if I brought them home, so I passed.

I wish I could take you up on that. I should clarify to say that a python is on a wish list that will only go into effect when I'm not $65K in debt from college and am making more than $30k/year trying to live in one of the more expensive areas of the country (Took me 7 months to save up enough for my Gen 4 G17).

Gosh I hate being broke

congrats! picked up a 6" blued python a couple months ago for my gf's dad. we paid just under $1500 after everything. he is ex-delta and it was his favorite gun during, but sold it when he retired because his wife isnt a big fan. needless to say, it was a huge surprise and he was super stoked. turns out he had a 4" but no way was he turning it down. im still waiting to go shoot it.

You are a thief ... that is a very, very good price for a Python in great shape. If I came across one at that price in my neck of the woods, it would be coming home with me that day!

If I had seen something like that yesterday, I would have put a deposit down on it. Thinking about that makes me tingly.

Is it still around?
