Taking a risk

I am taking my new Ruger GP 100 .357 to the range tomorrow to try it out. What is the risk? I am taking my wife with me to let her shoot it. I am afraid she will like it so much, I might lose it.
I am looking forward to taking her out and letting her shoot it. I am introducing her to shooting (she will be shooting .38 specials)

Then drop in a full house 158grn .357 down the pipe, she wont like it and you will get to keep your gun!
On the positive side.. If she likes it and keeps it, that warrants YOU the ability to buy a "replacement" gun its a win win either way!

that did not work for me! she still took mine. then went out and got a sp101 to top it. But you are right about claiming it as a tool and like all tools it can not be shared so they for another must be bought for your own use.

We went to the range and had a really good time. My wife liked my gun, but a little big for her. We are going to look for a sp101 for her.

My step dad had a sp 101 in 38. I want one!!!! was a nice pistol but, I think id get the .357 just so I have the option to shoot the full house loads and plink with the 38's. was also looking at that in a .327 but I don't see much advantage over that and the 38/357 combo other than the price of ammo.

I can't honestly say I've ever seen just a .38 Special SP for sale. All I've ever come across have been .357, .327 and .22. I wonder if they still make the 9mm...

Ruger advertises the sp 101 in the .38 on their web-site. It is a nice looking pistol. Although i am thinking seriously about looking at the .357 to see if there is much of a size difference; if not then get the .357. She can shoot the .38 in it, and if she decides she wants to upgrade all she needs to do is change the ammo.
