Taurus Judge thoughts?

I had a 2" cylinder, short barrel. Loved the grip, but found I couldn't hit much with it farther then a few yards with 45lc ammo. The long colt ammo is crazzy expensive too!! Until the last few years the .410 was hard to find but relatively cheap. But with all the handgun .410 hype of the Judge the ammo price has doubled, although the availablity and kinds of ammo has expanded too. A lot of smiths I have talked to say it is a middle ground gun that doesn't do either job well.
I have talked to some local (Utah) LEO and they say it is just a matter of time before it is outlawed.
Me, I stuck with my Lady smith in .357mag and my Marlin lever gun in .357mag.
I wouldn't turn down a long barrel Judge or the rifle version they sell now for a good price though!!

I can just imagine some of Taurus's product development team sitting around getting hammered, thinking this stuff up.

"Ok ok ok...Let's take a massive revolver and put .410 chambers in it. It won't do anything practical or useful, but man it'll be cool!!"

"Let's try making one even bigger...How about 28 gauge. The ATF won't let us bring it into the US, but we can get some free advertising because it's so outrageous."

"Hey, what's more gimmicky than a .410 revolver? a .410 ZOMBIE revolver! The only way to sell more judges is to come up with a new marketing gimmick for the guys we suckered in with the "judge" gimmick. Zombies will do just that."

Any guesses on next year's big Taurus gimmick?

Then they thought, hey why use ballistics gel when we can use.........Watermelons yeah! I just can't take this gun seriously.

I am well above the curve on .410/.45LC revolvers. I bought the Thunder Five back in 1994. Yeah, I'll admit there have been ammo advances since then. I sold my Thunder Five three years ago and with good reason. It is a stupid gun period. .410 as a defense load is just dumb period. Shooting loads at a snake is asinine. I could pick up a rock and kill said snake just as well, or beat it down with a stick with the given range of the stupid gun. A damn .22 pistol will be more useful period. Wanna kill a damn snake? Be a damn man and cut it's head off with a machete or shoot snake with a Ruger 10/22 like the rest of us poor people. Oh yeah tell me about the great accuracy of a shared .410/.45LC barrel shooting .45 LC. Even if the .45 was a 2" group at 25 yards why the heck have .410 loads? Then just buy a .45 ACP, .44mag, or .45 mag and be done with it?

It it a whole lot more accurate and better built gun than the Taurus Judge.

Plus it will shoot 45 acp in it.
