WTB 1911 or variants

i'm in the market for a new side arm and i got chance to shoot a 1911 at an Arkansas gun range on vacation and i gotta have one of my own now..... nothing too extravagant though. i'm more of a form and function kind of guy so nothing too flashy. oh and i'm in the DFW area if anyone is interested in a FTF transaction.

Just sold mine so I'm not a help but if you ever want to come shoot a pistol competition let me know.

Take a good look at the rock island 1911's. Got mine acouple months ago and love it. Decent price, $350-600 depending on model. Its a solid accurate pistol. Its eaten every type of ammo I've put through it. Lifetime warranty.

Also Advanced Gunworks in Roanoke makes some really nice custom 1911s.

Not cheap though.

If you go with the RIA, I'd look for the Tactical Version.
A few more upgrades and well worth the extra $.
