In Honor of Ezra/Ephoenix (WoW)

Well...if you pay much attention to WoW, you might know about Ezra...also known as Ephoenix, the Tauren hunter. He was a 10-year old boy with a brain tumor, who was able to visit Blizzard (the maker of WoW) and add some content to WoW via the Make a Wish Foundation.

Well, you might also know he finally passed on the 20th of October. In honor of this young boy who literally changed a world, and touched so many people...we have decided to honor him with an epic event.

Big Red Kitty had A Small Idea...he's going to gather the biggest group of Taurens he can, and make a run at Stormwind. He's invited every Horde and Alliance player to join him, in honor of Ezra. Stormwind will burn, and all in honor of this brave young man.

So if you're free...if you play World of Warcraft and want to have some fun before WotLK comes out...if you wanted to see what all the hubbub is about...make an account on the Argent Dawn server, Saturday, November 8th, 6:00pm EST, 11:00pm GMT. Roll a Tauren...(Plan to be there really early, it's going to take awhile to update your version of WoW if you haven't planned ahead), and I'd hate for you to miss the fun. Join us, honor a young man, and have a good time.

*continues to update WoW in preparation for the event*

I'm somewhat interested to see how this turns out. I don't know what most of what you said means but I'm imagining a "Leeroy Jenkins" scenario. Keep us posted!

Blizzard failed to prepare. We told them it was coming. They said they'd look into it. Either they underestimated how many people would show, or they just said "Screw You" and didn't care...either way, the world fell apart.

BigRedKitty: An open apology to everybody - WoW Insider - WoW Insider Post by BRK

Smackdown. - BRK's own blog post, with screenshots

Can’t Be Said Better Than This - Email to BRK, very touching.

How Nice! - Some videos of the event.

When you look at the screenshots and videos, realize that every "body" you see is an individual somewhere around the world that came together for this memorial service...This is one of (if not THE) biggest non-Blizzard sponsored event to ever take place...and I just hope that Blizzard takes notice that these events will be ran and figures out how to adapt for them when they hear (as they were told this time) that they're coming.

No one expected such a turnout. Around 900 Horde (probably more, many were planning on joining us en-route) and 300 Alliance gathered to make this a true memorial event. BRK defined it correctly when he first posted the idea...Epic.

That's too bad, though I dig the fact that so many people showed up. Thanks for the update.
