Anyone know a Microsoft employee (XBox Related)? - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

I'm trying to spend half of my tax refund this year in the least responsible way.... buying an Xbox 360 and several games. Before this thread turns into a PS3 vs Xbox 360 flame, I already know the differences and i'm getting the Xbox as a way to stay in touch with my brother (He is on his all the time) not because it is/isn't better.

Anyways, I cannot for the life of me find a place that has an Xbox 360 Elite in stock. None of the internet retailers, i've called most of the electronics stores in Michigan. I'm curious if Microsoft is discontinuing this model of Xbox, or if they're changing it and re-releasing it which would explain the absence of them on the market.

I've posted on the Microsoft news board, but haven't received any responses. If any of you know a Microsoft employee could you ask them if they've heard anything?

I know that the XBox has the ring of death problem. I know the problem was fixed in one of the models. Was it the Elite model? If so, I would assume that they are not getting rid of that model.

If you get the ring of death, you can call Microsoft and they should take care of it.

save your money kid and build a gaming computer. a cheap gaming rig will blow any xbox out of the water. graphics are better frame rates kick ass and its just more fun with a mouse an key board. you havent lived until u chainsaw bayonett someone on gears of war on a pc..... i almost peed my self a little.. ok so maybe i did. the graphics are intense on it. like i missed half the stuff on the xbox but it is so much more crisp... ehhh grousome on a pc

The Red Ring hasn't been fixed on the Elite. All Microsoft did was put epoxy on the known areas that cause RROD. If you can wait til the end of the year, word on the net (take with a big grain of salt) is that Microsoft is coming out with another 360 that will be RROD free.

If you don't want to wait, I know my boss got his at Gamestop. I just saw an ad in Sharper Image. I know that my WallyWorld has a few of them.
