Empire Earth 2 was my favorite RTS. I love my RTSs to be incredibly complex
EE3 looked good but everything I've heard is that they've dumbed it down to be nothing like it was.

Although more battle oriented (no nation-building to get mired in!), my favorites are from the Close Combat series (Bridge Too Far and Russian Front are the best).

I'd have to go with C&C, with Company of Heroes a close second.

Starcraft Brood War. I have been on battle.net the last few weeks for the first time in about 2 or 3 years.. that game is still the best.

I just found that my laptop can handle Supreme Commander...so I've been playing that a lot lately.
C&C is good...but gets old after a while.

Obviously, StarCraft is outstanding. One of my favorites.
Total Annihilation was my absolute favorite before SC. EDIT: Also, while a slightly different flavor(but still an RTS), Homeworld is definitely one of the best.

I've been playing "Comapny of Heroes" a lot lately. Addicting as hell...
Everything in the game is destructable... There was one crater that grew so huge, it looked like you could crawl through to China. |
