Played the Beta, wasn't impressed (and that's coming from and old-school Diablo 1+2 player). Going back to Torchlight/Torchlight 2. I didn't like the direction D3 went, but that's strictly my subjective opinion. There's tons of beta testers who were pleased as punch with the game, I just chalk up my displeasure with how salty of a gamer I've become.
It's my fault - I just don't like my favorite franchises changing just for the sake of change or, my biggest problem with most of my favorite franchises lately, changing to try to get into the pockets of multiplayer gamers when the game has been about the singleplayer experience. Not exactly what went wrong with D3, but it's still there.
OK, enough of my bitching. You folks enjoy your Diablo 3, I'll be over here in the corner grumbling about kids and their lack of respect while shaking my cane at them.

I know what you mean. I have not played D3 but I became so bitter and hostile at WoW because they ruined it. people constantly biched about gear and gold. who is wearing what/ who gets to roll on what/ talking about gear scores and blah blah blah.
I am happier playing half life 2 story mode.

I like playing as the Warrior/Palidin in D1 and D2. Still have my D2 around here somewhere....
GT Jon, without giving spoilers, can you kinda describe where they seperate from the regular formula? or is it just making it more of a MP game instead of the single player focused gameplay?
I'm curious because I could easily find I might be in the same boat. I liked the dark, gothic atmosphere of the first two games, and so far I've liked the cutscenes from the trailers/commercials. But some gameplay shots make it almost looks too colorful/bright, cartoony.
