I seldom ever replay the story of any game, but I'm thinking I will on this one.

Very well conceived.

It is a great game for gun guys given all the weapons variations. I like that the designers even came up with "brands" that have their own tendencies in weapons design. Maliwan making sniper rifles for example. Is it as good as Fallout 3? Not really the same sort of game. Fallout was more RPG and this a little more shooter. Both are really good games.

Did any of you catch the little tributes to other post-apocalypse genre games/fiction? The soldier named Roland. The bus driver guy very much like the dealer fellow in the bunker from Stalker. Then of course the bobble heads. Seems like the designers liked Fallout 3 as well. I have been looking for Deathlands references--maybe the entire game?

It is estimated that there are like 17 million different guns in the game

I have a level 22 hunter that I've been playing like crazy.

Does anyone know what the best spec to go in is?

And what is the best type of gun to use with it? I currently use a 38x2 SMG and a 2 shot revolver (high damage) with a very nice purple shotgun (13 shells without reloading) and a combat rifle with a 68 round clip.

The problem is I like all of these guns but they don't have scopes. So I use a combat rifle with a 1.4x on it but it only has 12 rounds that it fires in 3 shot bursts...pretty crappy.

I am going to look for a 6 or 7 shot revolver (I am in gunslinger spec) with a scope on it if I can.

What other class should I do next?

The game is unique because it is a single player campaign...that you can invite your friends to if you get bored ..if they are close to you in level than they can even help you quest.

My friend invited me to join his game..he was 36 I was 16 and he leveled me up 3 levels super fast (i kept dying but it was ok) and gave me a bunch of guns to sell...I made like $300k and I only had $10k before.

It is fun.

Yup, just got this two days ago. I don't have too much time for video games but this is my new fix...

Fun game. Not very complex, but just fun to play. I think it has a similar gameplay of Dungeon Siege mixed with Guild Wars, but much more fast paced and FPS - if that makes any sense.

I'm not sure how "good" it will be for longterm playing...I think the level limit is 50(?) and I seem to be leveling very fast. I'm not sure what I can do when I reach the top except just level a different character up.

I will ask my brother this afternoon about it.

if you look at the hunters skill tree it leans heavily towards sniper rifles if you go in the sniper spec, otherwise you spec into gunslinger for pistol action or bloodwing pet.

Every character can use any gun, but if you look at their skill trees if obviously tells you which ones they benefit from the most

Soldier = shotguns and combat rifles
Brick = melee and rocket launchers
Siren = SMGs
Hunter = sniper rifles and revolvers

Thank you, I just wanted to make sure i was going in the right direction. Leveled to 30 almost 31 last night on my hunter...I use my revolver almost all of the time...other pistols are good for hunter as well but they run out of ammo really fast. I went all into the gunslinger tree and it rocks. For leveling in the beginning I think that the bloodwing tree is excellent--I kept that tree until like level 18 or so. The bird can really tear people up.

I snipe a lot (although my revolver does just as much damage and has a 3.7x zoom i think) so I might go some into that tree as well.

What kind of character should I do next? I'm thinking the Siren would be fun. Soldier would be ok too.
