New GI Bill signed into law.

The president finally did something right. Yay. I'm glad I voiced my concern to him.

This will be nice as th Army has just about paid for my 4 year. I can't see myself using my MGIB, so I am very happy to see it signed as I have 2 kids 12 and 7.

Good for you guys!!!

I'm glad that you're going to get some benefit out of your service, besides just a "thank you" here and there. Particularly you Grunts.

Now take advantage of it, and don't look back!

I really wish they would take away the stupid time constraints. By the time I was financially stable enough to go back to school mine had expired.

Here's some of the info:
- (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)

Highlights:
It's good for 15 years past your EAS, You don't have to pay to get into it, you get E-5 BAH w/dependents if you are full time student, you get up to $1000 for books, can receive tuition payment for up to the maximum state school tuition (in case you go to a non-state school).

Rumor has it, the $1200 or $1800 you paid in (if you did so) you will receive after your 36 months of benefits are received. I have yet to see that officially, but it was in Marine Corps Times.

In addition you will be able to pass your GI Benefits to your dependents. When I first signed up for the GIB they told us they were working on letting dependents use our benefits, this was the main reason I signed up and paid into the GIB and finally it looks like I will be able to do so.

Glad to see our Vets receiving this. Under the old GI Bill I was receiving $500 a month back in '82 for full time (12 credit hours per semester).
