I worked for the infamous "KBR", was a pretty good experience though, as former Marine Corps it was good to support our troops first hand. It was a way to get into the Iraqi theater despite being past the due date for re-entry to military service.

I spent a year(May of '05 until May of '06...) in Kuwait as a contractor working for a company called CSA, Ltd.
I sat-up and ran a recycling program on three Army camps in the Northern desert of Kuwait. I helped clean up Kuwait's environment and helped Uncle Sam reclaim some of his $$$ by recycling wood(pallets & lumber...), cardboard and loose paper. At the time, the Kuwaiti's hadn't figured out plastic recycling. KBR guys made a little more $$$, but my living conditions were better than the KBR folks. I actually lived in a company-provided apartment in Kuwait City(about 2 blocks off of the Arabian/Persian Gulf, I might add...), I had a company vehicle to drive around in and one or two days off per week...I got to explore a lot and get a good dose of the local culture. I was never afraid for my safety, but I always made sure I was aware of my surroundings. It was a blast...I had the time of my life.

Not yet since I just retired, but since the contractor slots on Fort Leavenworth are more plentiful than the green-suiter slots I figure it's just a matter of time.
