I was in WLC on the army's bday. The DFAC made a huge cake and the commandant(CSM) gave a speech and everyone got to eat cake and socialize.

I have found in the years in the Army to not only know important dates, but senior leadership... Keep up on current events... just never know what questions will be asked during promtion board or even something like Soldier of the Quarter
