Where I get based?
I have several weapons, some of which are banned in California.
If I get based at Pendelton can I tak my AR-15 and some of the other pistols that are not California legal? After all I'm in the military, I'm confused about this topic.

I am not sure how the law applies to military, but if I were you I'd just take them with me and make sure I didn't so anything that would warrent LEO or ATF to be snooping around my stash. Prefferably keep them locked up in a safe, keep them there and never take it out unless your moving to another state. But if you find out you can have those because you're military then more power to you. Good luck and I hope you are allowed to have them.

I hear marines complain about it all the time. However if you lived on base I imagine you could check it in to the armory for storage... but sometimes armories are rough on things.

keep all your weapons, if you live on post, check them at the armory, it may be a pain, but since you are in "federal" land, local laws can not touch you.
shoot in ranges on post, and you'll be ok. Dont be to gung ho, and stick around people that have the same dilema you do, and you'll be ok. Jose BTW off post all bets are off, you get caught you will suffer the local laws. |

Leave them with a VERY trusted family member and take the ones that are legal and get 10 round mags for your pistols.

People that lived in the dorms could not have any personal firearms. Period.
People that lived on base had to keep them at the Base Armory. I knew several Base Armory folks that said they often play with people's gun. Either way, it sucks for you. Your best bet is to store them with a friend who lives off base. But still have to be California legal. Sorry.

And yea, so I'm not just making this up. Base (or Post) Armory folks will mess with your guns.

Taken from Untitled Document StorageI'd call these guys before storing at the base armory. The down side is no quick access to them. We know of two gun storage facilities in Nevada for those who are unfortunately oppressed by California’s gun laws and arbitrary gun banning. Front Sight Firearms Training Academy in Pahrump (owners of the newly re-opened Nevada Pistol Academy in Blue Diamond) and Impact Indoor in Sparks both store firearms securely at their facilities. You can take advantage of Nevada as a safe-haven, or mecca, for storing firearms. Reach them at:

When I lived at Lejeune in family housing, I was able to keep my weapons there, but had to register them on base.
If you live in the barracks, you will not be able to keep your guns there, but your command may allow you to keep them in the armory. If you live off base, do not take your non-Kali-Kompliant guns.
