Selected JETS!
Just found out today that I selected Jets out of Primary flight school and will be moving to Kingsville, TX to fly the T-45! I'm f'n stoked!!! Finally my childhood dream is becoming a reality. Time to break out the Crown Royal...

congrats. hope you enjoy the heat!!! while yer there you gotta visit the king ranch. oh and there really isn't much else down there. where are you from? i hope i'm not telling a Texan what he already knows. but congrats!

Big fan of some good Whiskey. Don't know much about Kingsville or TX. I was born in Kingsville but have for the most part lived in Tampa, FL so the heat is no big deal. I hear the big thing to do on the weekends is to drive up to Corpus. I guess there is some stuff to do there. I'll be house hunting next week...I think the wife is going to be in for a shock. She thought Pensacola living was rough...

Congrats! Maybe you'll be flying our F-35s in a few years. We're finishing up the design and are doing flight test on them now.

Congrats... now I have to decide whether to go air or ground. Its ok, I have a year to figure it out. (making the huge leap of faith that I will pass OCS)

i always wanted to fly the choppers when i was a kid but growing up to be over six feet tall and having piss poor vision kinda grounded that dream!
yup, corpus is the closest city to kingsville that has any type of entertainment. mexico isn't too far, don't know how you feel about crossing the border to shop and party. if you get off the main tourist trap drag you can find some shops with really nice stuff. south padre island isn't too far to go to the beach and party, if you're into that. and thats about it. corpus has a few things going on, not much. in the last few years they have started to draw more big name musicians/bands if you like live music. i've never been to any shooting ranges there but haven't heard any stellar reviews about them either. good luck and enjoy south texas!
