New York State Guard?

Anybody in the New York State Guard or can tell me impressions of it?

Long story but I've never served in the military, got old, and now regret not having done it when I was still age eligible. Thinking about joining the NYSG as they have bases close enough to where I live and I am not too old.

Any info, advice and impressions are welcome.

Thanks.
