Totally agree about PTSD. There are a lot of free loaders claiming disability, that should not be getting a nickel. I served a tour in RVN, and went through my share of incoming, gooks in the wire, and a convoy ambush. The pic in my avatar is a trc-97 comm shot at LZ Stud. One of the places I spent some time. I was changed by my experiences in Vietnam, but it didn't turned me into a nutcase.
I've never had PTSD, nor would I ever claim to. However, I know a guy that was helicopter crew during the evacuation of the Saigon embassy, who is getting 100% disability for ptsd from evacuating people. WTF?!?!? The dude spent like 12 hours on the ground in Saigon, and that's it. He's drawing 100% disability!! It really jacks my jaws!! I've also got friends who were grunts, and severely injured. One guy had his face shot off by an NVA sniper. Took Jerry years to get back to some kind of normal life, and he is blind. It really p.o.'s me to think that these phony ptsd claims are taking money that could go toward helping real, bona fide combat casualties!

4 mile shot? Not a problem. Just give me a grid and I will have the FDC calculate the firing solution for the 120mm mortars in the platoon.
Too easy.

Yeah I would say he is a definite poser...I have met a lot of guys that claim to be this and that and when you start asking them about it they get all bumfuggled and don't know what to say. I just left 2nd Ranger Batallion two years ago and this guy obviously knows nothing about the military or helicopters..people like that just tick me off.

hhahaha
yeah that is bogus..there is a shot that breaks the canadian record but for opsec reasons we do not say what unit...it was not mine all ill say is 338 and horace reticle. as for the helicopter that is impossible most of the time you are right above the objective and not rocking a bolt action rather an sr-25 or m-14 with an eotech since shot will generally be less than 400 meters. just my .02

I knew an ex seal along time ago. He was a cool guy. We asked all the time about being a seal. It took 2 YEARS for him to tell us 1 small thing, that was so vauge you couldn't get all that much out of it. I guess that they see alot of stuff that they never really want to talk about again.
My father-in-law is a retired Air force Col. Now he tells us all sorts of stories...mostly stupid stuff that they survived. He was a Navigator for the recon planes, that took pictures of the Nuke testings. It was cool, when last year they finaly declassified the mission that he got his distinguised flying cross for.

The best part about all of this is that even with very little knowledge it is just too easy to spot a fake..the things these guys say are just plain ol' rediculous..I usually pretend I believe them and sometimes they make even more outrageous claims....then I shut um out!!

I've never met any SF, but I know 1 1/2 SEALs. One was in the seals during the late 70's, and one that was halfway through BUDS, but left because his wife got pregnant, and he decided that he didn't want to do it with a child. About the "Never talking" thing, my dad always tried to get my Grampa to talk about WW2. He was a medic with the 3rd Army. Even after my dad left and came back from Vietnam, he still didn't. We didnt find out until the funeral that he had a Bronze Star...
