It would be one thing to get orders after EASing for a month or two, but I've started to return to civilian life, been enrolled in college for 3 semesters now, and going back in the fall.
As a result of this I've had to put in for an Educational Hardship Deferral. Should hear back after Apr. 30th. If they had recalled me earlier I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

The joys of getting Leatherneck.
The IRR Marines can not be recalled in the first or last year of their IRR time. So they can't get you the the first 12 months. I would say they worked pretty quickly getting you in 16 months.
And did you NOT know you signed up for a 8 year commitment? And I would have to guess that you signed up AFTER 9/11?
