How many marines do we have in here?
Is it worth it? I was watching some boot camp videos online, man you all get your sh*@ hammered. Lots of yelling and confusion. What's harder, Army, Navy or Air force boot camp? What's harder Army, Navy or Air Force OCS school?

M198 155mm Howitzers 87-93 PG1 Veteran MCRD San Diego Plt 1125 Charlie company The chaos of boot camp is to instill discipline and ensure that the warrior you become can function in a constant state of confusion and chaotic events. You will emerge with an Eagle Globe and Anchor that has been EARNED, not given to you. Those that have not been there will never understand. Those shows on tv and online make me miss my beloved Corps. It's a brotherhood that never tarnishes. I run into old salty dogs who see my EGA decal on the truck and have to walk over with that twinkle in their eye and shake hands, only to say a simple Semper Fi. You will never regret becoming a Marine, ever. |

I am not a Marine, but I felt compelled come here and snap off a *SALUTE* to you all just the same.
I make it a point to approach every marine I run into and shake their hand, thank them, and tell them that they are always in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all, and from the top & bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. |

Freshman in college
I am currently a freshman in college and am seriously thinking about joining the Marines. What experiences do you all have for me to think about. I have a wife and one child.
In everything I do I have to do it all or nothing. The Marine seems to be the logical choice. Am I being blinded by the____?

Think it through, a young wife and child is going to be tough to keep together at your age, finish college and go to OCS if you are going to plan on joining, choose an MOS that may keep you closer to your family more often if you have to. Keep your priorities in line and you can go far. Again, you will never regret becoming a Marine, none of us ever do. You will always remember the day you put on your blues, damn, it's like being a king. Semper Fi.
