Dress Blues.

Service is the dark green with subdued insignia.

I've always preferred the Service Alpha's to the dress blues. I'm kinda partial to olive drab though.

Needless to say, I never considered going out in my cammies ever again.
LOL - Classic! They've got the toughest job in the Corps for a reason

We are a fighting force, and that is first and foremost what we do. We also have secondary MOS's. Mine was 1833 - AAV Crewman. I was and always will be first a Rifleman, and second a nasty lazy Tracker to all who served in Combat Arms MOS though.

There is nothing really wrong with the Army, Navy Air Force, or heck even the Coasties. We all felt an obligation to serve. We all volunteered. That in and of itself makes us worht more in any Vet's eyes than the rest of society who just wants it but won't fight for it.

If you watch carefully as you are out and about on the town you will notice something Marines do that no other branch does. We recognize and acknowledge each other anywhere we go. Trademark "Semper Fi" or similar. We go out of our way to help one another. Years after we EAS'ed. We are truly a brotherhood with sisters included. We don't do our time and forget about it.

I think this might be about as good an explanation as I could give without you actually having been there. Hope this helped, and carry on.
It couldn't have been said better. Thanks, brother. Semper Fi!

I have never served. I have huge respect for all branches of the military. Actually, anybody that voluntarily puts their life on the line for my safety and freedom. This includes LE.

Every branch looked down on the other branches. When I was in the USAF, we looked down on the less intelligent branches. The ASVAB scores needed to get into USAF jobs were much higher than other services. Of course, it was all in jest. We're all brothers and on the same side after all.

I can assure you that was just the DIs reminding the FNGs of their place in the world: Just one step up from worms.
