Yeah I was going to say about the same as Tiburon .. Camelbak and also look at Tactical Tailor .. stay away from the CTD Maxpedition clones, great for mall ninja's, not good for real world day to day use.

If the CB's are too much and you don't see anything from TT, check ARFCOM for used packs.. usually you can snag a good clean, lightly used Eagle, Kifaru or London Bridge pack for 1/2 the new cost.

Another thing you could think about is getting the new enhanced ALICE pack frame.. smokes that POS tube frame that most of us dealt with and gives super new life to the classic ALICE pack.

You can also check with John Willis at Original SOE. He's out of San Diego and will make sure that the pack is ready and shipped to her before she deploys. He really hates it when troops deploy without the right gear.

Also don't underestimate what they might get issued as they rotate in to the theater. If all that fails, drop me a PM, I might be able to provide a hookup through some smaller shops that will be able to get the gear out ASAP, especially for a deploying troop.

Army PXs sell them by the name BUG OUT BAG, if i remember correctly.

if i went to the PX her emore often i could tell you for sure, but i'm reasonably certain.

everybody out here buys the BOB's, they're about 80-90 bucks for the ones i'm thinking of... can't say who makes them either. there's a company called BUGOUT(C) GEAR or something, but i cant find it with a quick search...

hopt it helps

I've been out for a while, but most of the guys/gals coming back that I've run into that have purchased their own daypacks mostly have Blackhawk gear. I've used Blackhawk gear and love it.

I have a pygmy falcon and I think it is a little small. I got it to replace my aging "Bug-out" bag and it has done well. It has some features that I like and some that I don't. It can hold stuff on the sides like water bottle, rolled up ponchos, and gun magazines. It does not have any hydration pack storage!! I figured this was a standard option on every bag made nowadays! Any way. I have found that your price sux! and I got mine from LApolice gear.

They also have other gear and some pretty good prices on them.

I looked at Blackhawk gear at a local place here and about shat myself when I saw the prices. For a decent sized bag (One that will hold at least a weekends worth of gear) it was going to run me OVER 250 bucks.

I was on Al Asad for a few weeks once. She is lucky if she gets to stay on the base the whole time. We were just passing through. I have been on 3 combat deployments and I took my Spec-Ops pack with me every time and I love it. so much I still use it to this day for hunting/camping/luggage. The quality is superb plus you can fit any issued MOLLE gear to it. Here is the link.
