Marine Corps Museum

Spent a good part of Friday walking around the Marine Corps Museum near Quantico.

Great experience and the kids loved it too.

If you come to the DC area I highly recomend you make the trip to see it.

There is so much to see and read that you need at least a full day to get through everything. Make sure you make your way to see the flag that was raised at Iwo Jima...sobering sight to see.

Next time I'm in D.C.

I'll have to go see it.

I try to get to D.C. for the M.C. Birthday, and Veterans' Day, every few years. It's an awesome experience to be there at the Iwo Jima Memorial on the Birthday, and to visit The Wall on Veterans' Day. Not to mention Arlington National Cemetery, and the other national monuments and buildings. I can't wait to vist the new Marine Corps Museum!!

We spent about half a day there. We didn't read everything. Actually missed 2 of the halls (vietnam and WWII) as we were walking around and had to go back to see them. I had 3 kids with me 10, 14, and 15.

The kids liked the M-16 simulators.
