Vietnam Vets

We mostly shot 105's and also called in airstrikes and of course, 81mm
mortors. Glad you made it back with the purple heart, slugger6, instead of
pushin up diasies like so many got.

Gary

SLUGGER; my signature says it all. Was in the Iron Triangle 1965-'66. Radio operator 051B and prime AK47 target. Slept with a Colt 1911 in my hand, cocked and locked. I was EXTREMELY fortunate in that all my scars are internal. (well, not ALL). I appreciate the welcome homes.....thanks guys. I still remember the guys who will never come home. Too bad our government back then couldn't stay the course. No complaints though. Just salute, do an about face, and move out smartly. After the Nam I got smart and switched over to the Air Force. Best move I ever made, for my family's sake. But I'm still proud of my Army service.

To the veterans of all wars. We as Americans should never forget the sacrifices you made for our freedom. From the soldier in the fox hole, the Marine in the jungle, the sailor on the open seas, and the airmen up above. Every veteran played a part no matter how small, to protect the freedom we enjoy today. May the young men and woman in Iraq be shown the respect they deserve. I'm proud to be an American.

England's Prime Minister Tony Blair summed it up perfectly when he said, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and the American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Proudly served USAF SAC 1968-72

Westpac cruise 68-69 in Tonkin Gulf. Worked the flight deck on the carrier Kitty Hawk as a plane captain in VA-105, 1900-0700 every day. Never took any enemy fire but hopefully I prevented some of you guys from getting hurt by helping supply air cover. Welcome home!

No doubt you did and I, for one, am very grateful. Thanks for your service, brother.

FNG reporting

Doesn't look like many Marine Viet Vets have XD's. They're probably all still packing 1911's.

I really like my 9mm XD SC.
