Not good, if you try to wear something you were not awarded.

However, there are medals and decorations awarded to American military personel by other countries. Those medals are not replaced by our government.

I had my original medals from Vietnam stolen about twenty years ago. I went through the process to get them replaced via filing the forms, and my DD-214 with the records office in St. Louis. After about a two year wait, I recieved a new DD-214, the medals and ribbons I had been awarded by the U.S. government, and a note that said the medals and ribbons awarded by the Republic Of Vietnam (which doesn't exist anymore), would have to be purchased. They also suggested I purchase them from Medals Of America.

I later purchased several sets of ribbons and medals from Medals of America, for wear on special occasions, and for display.

Remember this:
It's a Federal Offense to wear ribbons and medals for heroism, or valor in combat, if you were not awarded them!

Not that we need another service dress, but I wish the above was the uniform we were getting. The lastest test version is just like the last service dress but with a belt. I'm really getting tired of this.
