Dept. of Homeland Security

Hello to all fellow DHS employees,
Please tell us all where you work, with what branch, and for how long.
I am 29, out of the Miami area, and I am active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard, about 6.5 years now. I would love to lateral over to another branch of DHS but really dont know how to go about doing so, have about a year and a half left on this contract. I am a Gunnersmate and love my firearms. Looking forward to chatting with some of you, feel free to email/post any questions for me.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone...

Great, nice to hear from you all. Thanks for posting on this forum. I'm kind of new to this site, but so far I like it. Cant say enough about this firearm, and wish the DHS would pick up on it. The USCG has already switched over to our new sidearm, for those of you who didnt already know it.
Keep the posts coming, looking forward to hearing from you all.

If you're looking to stay inside DHS, I strongly reccomend looking into becoming a Border Patrol Agent. I'm about halfway through the hiring process and can't begin to tell you how excited I am about getting this job. The fact that I won't have to go out and drop around $900 on an HK P2000 is pretty cool too.
