Department of Veterans Affairs- DVA

To all forum military veterans, their spouses/and or
families, here is the direct link to the DVA -

www.va.gov

May I suggest that you use it. Contact with all VSOs
(Veterans Service Organizations), such as DAV, VFW
and the American Legion is shown whereby one may
perfect a claim for compensation or pension based on
one's military service.

Tons of other information is also listed on this web site.

Also most vets can use the VA weather they are disabled or not. Contact your local VA Patient Advocate for details.

DAV Helped me

Tired of hearing about how the Army screwed someone. Suck it up and drive on.

However, DAV has been great to me and helped me get my 80%. This includeds two IED hits.

Do it now it will pay off.

Hey, all I gotta say is, without the VA and the GI Bill, I wouldn't be in school right now. And pretty soon, I'll have a 0% claim, just in case...

Another Montgomery GI Bill baby here too. Got my B.Sci. in 1994 with a final debt total of zip, zero, nada. Allowed me to go to grad school and jack up a student loan balance there instead- haha! Get my prescriptions for next to nothing too.

I'm a 30%-er with VA as I have cases of the 3 classic "infantry injuries"- feet (3 years in Panama), knees (rapelling out of a UH-60- long story), hearing loss/tinnitus (light infantry- bang, bang, boom, boom). Talk to your state rep. or Vet. Service Org. and put your paperwork in.

I sure got help from the DAV. I tried by myself for ten years and they got the right forms and wording to get my rating. The system is designed to drive you crazy. You need these guy's (DAV,VFW or any other group you like with good reps.
