Do you collect BAS downrange?

Do you collect BAS downrange?

I received it in Iraq from 08-09 but not in Afghan in 2010. From what i see online its mixed opinions. Any military guys point me in the right direction.

If meals are provided you should not be receiving BAS. Since there is normally a DFAC or contractor provided dining faility government is already paying for meals and BAS would be deducted.

bas like bah? food allowance and housing allowance only if your married (cause your wife still gets it) housing you would still get full, but food I don't know how that works.

I thought I heard they were changing some things around so people don't get it when they go to any place with provided means. BAS itself is only calculated for the service member, not the family anyway, but I think for a while, they were still giving it to members who received BAS before they left, but probably have since changed it so they don't get it once on orders.

I'm pretty sure I received it during both of my deployments to iraq, and I'm a single soldier.

I recieved BAH but not BAS because I'm single. Married people got both plus family separation.

I am single and currently deployed with full meals provided. And I am receiving full BAS. ($348.xx/mo)

I am married and currently in afghanistan. I receive both bah, bas, and family sep. In oef 08 i was single and only received bah. As far as i know BAS is to feed your family regardless of whether or not the SM eats free
