I like the 6.8SPC SBR idea. A std. AR is okay, but something with a foldaway stock would be excellently compact.

I would seriously consider the 5.7 in a P90 configuration instead of a SB AR.

Terminal ballistics suck in the 5.7 round and are even worse with the 4.6mm that H&K are attempting to market I'm hoping for the 6.8 but it really doesnt affect me. If the troops are undergunned against the AK going smaller and lighter calliber wise doesnt sound like a very good idea. I understand the needs of the Paratrooper differ from the standard infantry and an MP needs differ from a A Team squad leader but a standard magazine and ammo are pretty nice to have when the supply lines get stretched. The M16 is a dated weapon and should be taken back to the design board to see if there is still anything Viable in the old war horse and what needs to be changed.

Hmm...good point. I am not familiar with the 6.8...what is so special about it? I've heard a lot of people mention it lately.

It is a 110 or 115 grain bullet with speeds similar to 5.56. its effective range it out to 800m i believe and its better against hard body armor. Its basically a 5.56 and 308 replacement.
