I do not really expect to get my station of choice. I know this, and have talked to my wife about it.
I was really just wanting information about Alaska, should they give me the option. I know not likely but would like so see Alaska just not sure about living working and breathing Alaska.

good luck in basic,
but to the OP, in my experience, there is no such thing as a wish list sorry to be the one to have to tell you

I got a wish list after an assignment in Washington DC. My understanding is on wish lists you generally get the 3rd choice. So choose wisely.

When my step-son graduated from 21B OSUT at Ft. Leonardwood he was given an assignment station "wish list" and Alaska was not one of his choices...imagine that...lol.
Ft. Richardson is where he's stationed which is in Anchorage. My father put 26yrs. in the Army and I can't think of one duty station he got what he requested.

I did get my last of three choices, but I knew that was a high probability so my first choice was a duty station that I didn't really want but could live with. My last two choices were duty stations that I wanted. My choices were 1. Camp Lemoore, 2. An AFB in or near Ft. Lauderdale, 3. Hawaii. I got Hawaii.
All three of the guys that I went to DC with filled out wish lists, and all of us got one of our three choices. Though this was in the USMC not the Army.

Be careful, my Alaska experience was some of the worst weather that the Bering sea can throw at you and I still miss that place (although I don't want to EVER see another 80' wave).
If you end up there it is addictive!
