Need advice going to Meps on thursday..
After six months of BS I finally got my trip to meps next thursday. My problem has been my GED. Got it when I was 16 and went to work. Spent four years in trade school and 9 years at my current job with countless hours of continuing education courses which at the start of this the recruiters said I would be able to use as college credits and end up enlisting as a grad.
The whole time I'm running around getting school records and calling Florida Department of Education and fighting with them for weeks, there were slots open for plain ol GED's. By the time I got all these papers together four different times the education director denied my credentials, and the army closed the category for GED's.
After all this frustration my recruiter says the only option I had left was wait until fiscal year to be over and the GED slots to reopen. (and by the way I found out later from the new station commander there that the reason it was so important for my recruiter to have me enlist as a grad was because he gets more points toward his bonus than a GED)
So here we are start of the new fiscal year and the station commander called me first with an open slot. All my paper work is done fingerprinting etc. Just waiting to go to meps on Thursday. Anyway my point to all this is I'm told because I have a GED I also have to pass an A.I.M's test. Can't find much info about it on the net and I'm a little nervous having come this far to not make due to failin this test. So I wanted to hear from others who had experience with this, should I be nervous about this test? I'm told there IS NO preparing for this test, Is that true? Any help will be apprectiated.

I've never heard of it. Ask around on these forums, somebody's got to know about it.

Its not difficult at all... its a personality test. they want to make sure your not a lazy piece of work. you cant study because its not a test, its more of survey. I never had to take it but I have been in for 6.5yrs now and i dont think they had it when I enlisted.

its not an act of god to get into the army... It only requires that you not be a complete idiot(being pretty stupid is acceptable), not be openly gay, and not have anything thats on a short list of disqualifiers!

ha the openly gay thing doesnt even matter anymore...and dont sweat about the test, its not really a test, like stated previously its just a series of questions...honestly do not sweat it...you will be fine...one thing i can say is be sure of the MOS you are getting in to..you did not state if you were going reserves or active but just make sure its something u can see urself doing..if u do go reserves and decide to switch MOS u will have to repay your bonus..good luck bruh!
