Combat Engineer...
I have enlisted as a 21B, and want to look into Airborne/ Sapper.
My questions are: What bases are Airborne Bases? Where are engineers bases? I am having trouble finding any information as to what bases would be good for the wish list. Should I actually get one that I put down. What bases are good bases and what bases should be steered clear of IF I have a choice between them? Unlikely but would like to know. Thanks Zarcher

Anybody?
Even a point in the right direction? I have looked up a couple of sites for bases but none give any kind of information to standard of living and what kind of area they are in.

You can be airbourne almost anywhere... It all depends on your MOS, the unit and your command. Since you didnt get it in your contract, you will have to earn it. When I got to Bragg, they offered it to me. certain units have will offer it when you get there. Almost everybase is going to have engineers. I was at Bragg and loved it. You should be going to Basic at Leonard Wood(Engineers, MP's, 88m's all go there) and then you could be stationed anywhere. As for your wish list... your probably not going to get anywhere near what you put on there. But if you want a good fun career and you dont mind going to the field, go to bragg or campbell.

Keep in mind if you go to Ft. Campbell you probably will not go to Airborne School. There are only a few personnel on jump status there, a LRSD, 160th SOAR, Parachute Riggers, 5th SFG and the Air Assault Cadre used to be, not sure if they still are.
As for 21B, I did that job in the NG for 7 years. Closest MOS to Infantry I could get in Missouri at the time. Pretty good MOS, I enjoyed it. Good luck and thank you for choosing to serve our country in the Army.

Hey brother I used to be at Campbell before I came to Bragg. Your best chance for schools is Bragg or Campbell. That was the main reason I chose Campbell, when Bragg didn't come up and it worked out well. Airborne is a real slim ****ing chance at campbell and even if you do get it, you'll never jump. I went with three buddies, and they've never jumped again (which honestly isn't a real loss. lol) I got sapper school pretty easy but a lot of that comes down to being in the right place at the right time. Feel free to pm me man, and even if you want give me a call. I did the 21b gig for about 5 years before coming to swc, so I should be able to answer most if not all questions. Good luck
