WTB: Stock Guide Rod for 5" tactical

I am looking to get a stock guide rod for the tactical XD. I am going to run and experiment on adding weight to it and make a tutorial. Let me know if you want to get rid of one.

Wouldn't this be easier for $20? PISTOLGEAR | YOUR ONE-STOP SHOP FOR ALL SPRINGFIELD XD

I have one of these so my stock one is just sitting on the shelf. Not sure I want to get rid of it though.

Yes it would be easier. I added lead BB from a shotgun shell to mine and it works really well but didn't take pics and want to do it again to do a tutorial for those with little money. Plus i am sure it is heavier than the steel one from pistol gear.

Sounds like a good idea though. I'm just one of those that likes to keep my stock parts intact just in case I end up selling the gun.

Stock tactical rod weighs about 23.19 grams.
Stainless rods weighs about 39.76 grams.
Stuffing the stock rod with solid lead should weigh 47.28 grams
So that tactical stock rod full of lead would add (doing the math thing) 7.52 grams or 0.27 oz over a solid stainless rod.
I like the idea myself but not sure if the mass is worth it for that small of a difference, but it is simple enough to try (and can not hurt).

Hey medic!

I'm looking to buy a tactical hopefully this week. I'll be using Don's guide rod, so you're welcome to grab mine. I'll let you know when it is available though.

And how much does the tungsten rod weigh? Anyone know?

From Pistol Gears' web site:
The Canyon Creek Tungsten Guide Rod for the XD45ACP is nearly 6 times heavier than the stock guide rod.
By adding this 4.6 ounces of nonreciprocating mass to the muzzle end of the gun

Stock tactical rod weighs about 23.19 grams. x Nearly 6 times

23.19 g VS 130.4 g = 4.59972 oz
