First post - WTB XD 40/45 in NV

I have never owned a gun and am looking to purchase and XD either 40 or 45. Not sure which to get (advice welcome) it would be mainly for home defense but could be concealed too.

I notice the prices in this state (Nevada) seems to fluctuate like the stock market. I'm finding anywhere from $530 - $629. Let me know if you are selling or if your know of a good place in the Las Vegas valley to buy. I really dig the green grip with the black slide.

Thanks for any advice and leads.

Hey Dellis and welcome to the forums. Everyone here has there own opinion about what gun is best and they are all worth reading. I myself have a XD 45 service and honestly wish I would have bought the XD 45 compact. You said you were looking mainly for home defense but maybe concealed too, I would advise you get the compact. You can get pierce grips for your pinky and if you get an extended mag you have the grip of the service model.

I personally don't find it that difficult to conceal my 45 service, and it is a lot easier for me to reload when i shoot it than the compact. The Compact throws my reloading time something awful. My advice is to go to a range that will let you rent and shoot them all. Which ever you shoot best with will get the job done. 40S&W and 45ACP with both completely destroy anyone, that is, if you can hit them. Once again, pick the one you group best with, for me that is the 45ACP service.

Still Interested?

Still interested in a XD40? I have a very well maintained XD40 I'm thinking about parting with... quite a few extras.

Let me know.
