Wts Lee Enfield No4mk2 Irish Contract- Az
LEE ENFIELD NO.4 MK2 FOR SALE
MATCHING #s on bolt, receiver, and stock, mag is different. IRISH CONTRACT Enfield No.4 MK2 the king of enfields! This rifle is almost all matching (stock, bolt, reciever, not mag) Made in 1953 in Fazerkly. The bore is very nice, the stock is solid with normal handling marks and groved top handguard, the bluing i would rate good with normal patina and some rust on the mag bottom. trigger guard rear screw is missing but thats a cheap part you can get. Bolt cycles very smoothly. Bolt head is a #1 and looks to be a replacement as it has no blueing- see pic. No.4MK2's are very rare, only 450,000 were produced compared to millions of MKIs. BUT MAKING IT EVEN RARER is the fact that its an irish contract rifle meaning: "...the rifle was manufactured for the Irish Republic, but because of political problems (duh) the rifle was never delivered and was kept in storage. Stratton makes reference to this fact, saying that only 50,000 rifles were manufactured for this order between the serial numbers PF309348 to PF359347 of which range my rifle's serial number falls within. These rifles are sometimes referred to as the "Irish Contract Rifles". " RECEIVER MARKED: "No4MK2(F) 11/53 PF312597" has small import markings on underside of barrel.
