I've had considerable communication with Derik in recent months and weeks about grips for the Shield and such. My last text from him was on May 11th and things seemed fine.
He's always responsive to texts and calls, so I fear for the "worst," too. I've not gotten any response from his cell number, either text or voice, so I just don't know yet what's going on either. I'm deeply saddened by this, as I've been very impressed by what a great guy he is.

Hey Steak, I have not found out for sure but on Talons Facebook page someone said Derik died. I am not sure though. I ordered new grips for my glock 2 weeks ago. If he did die his family might be figuring out how to keep his business running. Dave

I just received this email this morning. I've been waiting since the beginning of May on my order. This is too bad. My condolences to the family.
Dear Talon Customer,
Friends and family appreciate your patience while we deal with the unexpected loss within Talon. We are doing our best to deal with our grief, while at the same time working to maintain the customer service and quality of product that Talon has always delivered. We are aware that you have an order pending and ask for your patience while we work through the changes. Our goal is to be filling outstanding orders within the next two weeks. We assure you that your product will be shipped, however, if the timing of this will not work, we will issue you a refund promptly. If you wish to receive a refund, please reply to this email with "REFUND" in the subject line and provide your name and invoice number in the body of the email.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.

My condolences. I'll be keeping an eye out for future information on what happened. Someone please fill me in when they know what happened.
