This thread useless without inventory

Chaim,
I for one will not ever speak ill of Suresights, having purchased one pair already. What we do need is status updates on what's going on at Suresights, and I think we want to see announced deadlines hit. I am going to now descend into speculation based on my experiences in the IT industry.
Engineers suck at running companies, which generally mean that the better a person's idea is, the less likely that person is to bring the idea to marketable fruition.
Chaim, your sight will revolutionize how pistols are used. This will only happen if you get them in stock, if your website doesn't show them as being perpetually out of stock, and if you have a product to ship. Supply chain problems are less than fun, and I realize that, but if your manufacturer is not getting your product to you fast enough, you ought to look for a better manufacturer.
It seems like right now your fan base is separated into 3 distinct groups.

1. I have the sights and I love them. (I was in this category until a friend of mine made me a great offer on my XD... because he liked the sights (he really wanted an XD 40 instead of the 45 for some incomprehensible reason), I am now in group two praying for methadone, or sights so that I can get out of purgatory.)

2. I want them and am willing to do anything to get them (These are the people on your mailing lists hooked like crack addicts. They check their email every day for months on end in the ever dimming hope that there will be product for them to buy. I could make a lot of money off you by offering people like this a suresights twelve step program.)

3. The people that just gave up (These people may have been from group two originally, or they might have been impulse buyers that saw your product on xdtalk, glocktalk, or another forum; or they stumbled upon your website, couldn't purchase the product, and bought sights from your competition)

I hope my advice is well taken, and not interpreted as an attack piece, or in any way slighting of Sure Sight LLC which makes an excellent product (I just contend that we would all be better off if they made 2-3x more of it to fill demand)

I agree you can't run a business unless you have the sights to sell. Awhile back we were told big news in a week. That had to be a month ago. Me i'm just looking at other sight options. No reason for this long a delay in any business

If they ever come out maybe you better buy all the ones you want at the same time. When that shipment sells out be a good chance you will die of old age before another shipment comes in

Haha

lostone1413,

When I was typing my post yesterday... I was thinking the same thing!

but I would hate to spend $300 of sights... If I didn't end up liking them.

Guys,

I'm sorry for the long delay and breakdown in communication. I sent the below message to our mailing list today:

--Chaim

Myself, along with a very creative team of engineers have been hard at work on completing the design for the new model of SureSight. We have developed some pretty ingenious innovations that will help you get even more out of our sights. In fact, we've got several more patents pending for this new design.

Specifically, the new model SureSight that we're about to release will address four key issues people have had with past models of SureSight.

They are:

1) Easier to install. Unlike previous iterations of SureSight, the new model will be substantially easier to install. The rear sight will utilize a set screw, and will be easier to slip into the dovetail without too much filing.

2) Adjustable. For the first time, SureSight will feature an adjustable apparatus. Since these sights are primarily intended for self defense and lawful carry, we had to design our own rugged system for adjusting the sights. What we've come up with is both simple and effective. Our design is strong, and while the rear sight is adjustable for elevation, the rear sight is still more than strong enough to be used to cycle the slide on one's belt or boot in "wounded shooter drills". Another advantage of an adjustable design is that you can transfer the sights within models. In other words, if you have a 9mm handgun with our sights, and you'd like to switch them to the same brand handgun but in .45 caliber, you can now do so. Once the install is complete, you simply adjust the rear sight as needed and assure zero.

3) Plastic inserts. While we've had a very low failure rate for our yellow coating chipping off our sights, we still weren't satisfied. We wanted something stronger. After a lot of engineering research and development, we have finalized a design for fluorescent plastic inserts to replace our current silk-screened coating. The plastic resin we've selected is super-tough--it's used in the most high-end military sunglasses as well as some automotive applications.

4) Tritium. This has been the primary hold up for the re-release of our sights. At this point, I'd say we are 99% sure that this is going to work very well. I'm not yet prepared to start taking orders, because we have a bit more testing to do.

Once we've got a final design, we'll let you know. While things always seem to take longer than we expect, I believe we'll have a final tritium design within approximately 3-6 weeks.
Thank you for your patience, and rest assured that we'll let you know as soon as we are ready to roll with this new design.

All the best,

Chaim Stein
