SureSight sight review
I had my sites installed today and im not at all impressed
First thing i noticed when i took the sights out of the package it the day glow yellow paint is raised which will lead to it being chipped and scratched off. The metal surface should have been indented where the yellow paint is to protect it. A close inspection of the front sight and i noticed that is is unsymmetrical its not quite the same form right to left looks a little lopsided. Im talking about the upper portion not the dovetail. Tool marks can be seen under the coating as well. When i took the sights and held them under a bright light for 60 seconds and then turned off the room light the glow was so dull I could only see it when the gun was inches from my face. I have tshirts with phosphorescent paint that i have washed 50 times that glow brighter than these sights do. The almost non existent glow only lasted about 40 seconds after the light went off. I also noticed the glow was grainy i could see specs of glow and dark spots in between. When i shot it took a couple of rounds to get use to the sights, i wouldn't say they are the most accurate sights i have ever seen but target acquisition was fast and easy which is what the sights were built for. So i can give a thumbs up here the sights do what they are suppose to. I Loaded my clips with only 6 rounds a piece and shot at 3 targets, 2 hits each target then i would Holster. After holstering the weapon about 30 times i noticed the yellow on the front sight at the very tip of the sight is coming off from rubbing on the inside of the holster. I think that these sights were a good idea but they suffer from some poor design flaws, most likely because design and manufacture was being rushed. A few simple steps could be taken to correct the problems but as they are now i dont believe they are worth the money and i believe they will have a short life on most peoples gun due to the paint coming off so easily. Indenting the metal where the yellow design is would greatly ruduce this problem by sinking the paint below the surface. Im not sure what the deal is with the paint not glowing properly but that should be checked as well.

Perhaps you received a bad set. Have you contacted SureSight directly on the matter? I am sure they will make things right.

I am glad I cancelled my order and ordered TFO's from Old School. Leibster had over 3 months from the time these were ordered to get 'em done. Good Luck!

When you create a product unlike any other on the market, it takes time to make things right. This was the same thing that TRUGLO went through on their TFOs, now on the second version. Companies always look to improve and the consumer's feedback is key. Again, if you talk with SureSight, I am sure they will make things right.

TFO's all the way, no other sights hold a candle next to them no matter how hard they try. No offense to anyone who loves their suresights or any other brand for that matter. There just aren't a better set of sights with higher visibility in all lighting. That really sucks that your sights are already chipping, contact the manufacturer, they should definitely send you a new set at bare minimum. |

Off-topic, sorry, but...

What sort of problems did the TFO's have with the first generation? I think I might have a set. Mine simply aren't as bright as I'd expect them to be under normal lighting. The tritium glow, however, seems to be okay. |

I noticed the yellow on my rear sight was slightly asymetric and verified it with my calipers. I contacted Chaim and he sent me a new rear sight, free of charge, and it is much tighter in specs. The product may need a "Gen 3" release with some design changes but I can say from personal experience that SureSight will not stiff you. They stand by the product and if you have a problem they'll do what it takes to make it right.
