Well, I got a pm from bowhunter with the link as I was placing my order. I just did a google search on suresight.com for the word order. It came back with a link to the pre-order page. Apparently just the links to the page had been removed, but the actual page itself was still there.
I haven't got any sort of shipment notification email yet. Just the thanks for your order one. At least I'm on the list now.

Got mine today. Came packaged in plastic baggies, not a tin. That's not a big deal.
Got one set for my XD 45 service and one for my XD 9 sub. Will post a range report as soon as I get around to installing these.

Well guess what folks? The package HAS been here since last Thursday. Chaim e-mailed me a FedEx tracking # showing the package was delivered and left at the front door on Thursday. In fact it also shows they tried to deliver it on Wednesday but didn't because no one was home. (Not sure why they didn't leave it Wed. but did on Thurs. with no one home.) Anyway, the idiot FedEx driver put the padded envelope under the door mat so I didn't realize it was even here. Chaim had my sights sent out to be delivered on the day he promised he would. I owe Chaim a public apology for my above post!

I've been wanting a set of these sights for about a year, but have been unable to pick up a set due to the spotty availability. I gave up months ago and bought some other sights for both of my XD's. No product is worth this much hassle.

I ordered a set for my XD .45acp Service Tuesday, 08/28/07 and they shipped Thursday 08/30/07. The tracking number says they'll be here tomorrow.
I would 'guess' that SureSight is somewhat of a start-up company and doesn't have the production capacity to meet all the incoming orders. I consider it responsible of them not to take people's money until/unless they know the have the product on hand to ship. I once waited a year and a half for a 'limited run' firearm that I was told I'd only have to wait six weeks tops for. The company in question also required payment in full upfront. Waiting sucks, but it beats having your money taken with only a promise of a product 'later' or having production rate increased to the point where quality suffers. Obviously I don't have mine in-hand yet so I cannot review the product itself, but given the inability for supply to meet demand I believe Suresight is taking an ethical approach to the problem. |

I still can't figure out how you guys are ordering sights when every order link I find on their website is dead.

I don't work for SureSight and am not totally sold on the product yet (it's in the mail). I ordered a set for personal evaluation so I cannot speak for SureSight. However, I believe what is happening is this:
Suresight realised that there is a massive amount of interested consumers and they aren't always able to meet the demand. When supply is intermitent it would be unfair to offer them out 'first come, first serve' as only those who hammered their email account every ten minutes with inquiries would get them. By establishing the news letter system they are insuring seriously interested parties are notified immediately when a run becomes available, taking the burden of checking in off the consumer. I just lucked out and there were a few left over from the last run. So yeah, if you're interested in a set definitely get on the mailing list or email Chaim. The system he's set-up seems designed to make your life easier once you make one of those small steps. It's better than checking this thread three times a day would be.
