I wear progressive lenses. I want for my ego to get that pin point accuracy once and awhile. You know what I mean where I can split a card. I know it means nothing for self defense but it builds the ego up some when you get older. My main carry guns that I can get on target fast and with easy but I can't split that card for my ego I use the Hex Sights. If you want a defense sight and splitting a card means nothing i'd go with the Hex Sights. I had the big dot taken off and the Hex put on a 4 of my guns. Check them out at
http://www.goshen-hexsite.com/ to me they are way better then the big dot.

Interesting those Hex Sights! Thank you for the info. This is the first I've become aware of them. Of course now I am totally confused as to what to get. Someone just posted that I should get the XS with the standard dot not the Big Dot for better accuracy. Decisions, decisions. I do appreciate. We old farts have to stick together!

Yep i'd agree about us old timers lol The sight depends on what you want. Are you looking for a good defense sight that will get you on target fast with or without glasses? If that is what you want i'd get the hex. If you want that pin point card splitting i'm not sure what to get. I know the big dot didn't work for me. Let me know what you get. Give Tim a call and ask about the hex sight if you want. If you where in Arizona we could meet up and you could try mine. Take Care let me know what you try and how it works

Thank you! Yep, I am looking for a "good defense sight that will get you on target fast with or without glasses." And I have read so much good feedback on the XS Big Dots that I went ahead an ordered a set from Brownells. Now I am told over at GT that I should have ordered the standard XS front sight instead of the Big Dot so I don't know what to believe. I'll just have to try them out and decide for myself.

I'm starting to wonder what I've gotten myself into with the email I received from SureSights today stating it will be another 6 to 8 weeks before orders are shipped. Anyone else getting nervous that their credit card has been charged and we are now past the promised date with another long delay?

I am sorry but I am not 100 percent comfortable with that (charging your card and then having you still wait) Still they've agreed to refund your money if you can't wait any longer so there is definately something to be said for that.

I don't know why anyone would tell you to order the standard XS front sight. I don't believe it is any bigger thhen a regular night sight so what would the point be?

I think the concern was for more precise targeting but this is a gun that is carried strictly for close-in defense so I would agree it would appear the Big Dot is the preferred way to go. I am also thinking because I like to keep things simple, and I do will with white dot front sights, of ordering the Novak "wide notch" all black rear sight and a Novak white dot front sight. Even better if they can serrate the rear sight. I have a similar setup on my S&W M&P compact and it works very well for me. It's a Dan Burwell Gunsmithing rear sight by the way. The front white dot is the OEM that came on the gun. Very easy to pick up even in low light.

This is BS! See the following post which shows Leibster looking to find a different shop to make these on June 15th. If he knew then, he should have sent out an email. Instead, he waited until after the deadline to let us know. BS from a XDtalk sponsor. Looks like he recieved a list of possible shops to have these made on June 23rd. I think for this crap he should also waive shipping charges and offer a 10 percent discount for this, due to charging us in mid-May for our unmanufactured sights.
