Question Size and Radius question

Preface:
I know nothing about engineering sights for handguns, don't have a doctorate in physics and if this topic's already been covered, I missed it in my search. So, sorry on all accounts. But, since I am ignorant, I will need to ask a seemingly stoopid question.

According to the SureSight website, the only difference in sights avaialable for purchase are models of suresights for guns chambered in either 45 or for guns chambered in 40 or 9mm [XD frames]

For sake of discussion, let's limit my frame of reference to the suresigths for the 9mm & 40 XDs.

Questions:
1. Why different sights by caliber?
2. How can the same set of fixed-sights fit the compact, service and tactical and still maintain proper point-of-aim with that difference in sight radius?

That's about a 1 inch difference in sight radius from one slide to the next. Perhaps this question isn't just limited to SureSight b/c I'd imagine the same concept (one set of sights for 2 or more sized slides) applies to other manufacturers as well. But, since I am very interested in purchasing SureSights, thought I'd ask here.

Thanks for any input or answer or links to answers!

DeltaCharlie,
Sorry it took so long for me to respond to you.

Basically, these are fixed sights which we engineer so that point of aim is within about an inch of point of impact. The differing sight radii between a subcompact and and a Tactical XD for example, aren't enough to effect point of aim to any significant degree in a combat sight.

Hope that helps,

--Chaim
