Suresights - First impressions
Well after what seemed like an eternity, my sights finally arrived in the mail yesterday. They arrived in my office and wasted no time in opening the package up and seeing my latest addition. The first thing that ran through my mind was 'Damn, these things are bright!'. I quickly showed them to a couple of my co-workers who are also shooters and they were also suitably impressed.
Today after a seemingly long day (yes, I *am* impatient when it comes to tricking out my blasters and getting new kit) I ran straight down to my local gun shop and turned over the slide and new sights. Shane has worked on a few XD's before and I was confident in him not beating my new sights up all to hell. Within 2 hours the work was done flawlessly (the stock sights came out without a hitch apparently) and it was off home I went to reassemble my piece. The gun was back together in a flash and this is when I was able to fully appreciate my new purchase. WOW! I am truly amazed at how quickly I am able to acquire a proper sight picture and for me at least, how naturally it comes. I was practicing on several random points of aim in my place and without much effort at all, was able to line everything up consistently. I must also feel the need to qualify this statement by saying that while I have shot quite a few pistols before, I am by no means a great pistol shot. Actually I consider myself quite terrible to be honest and have noticed a good chunk of the problem is getting a correct sight picture. Already though I can say that the difference between the factory sights and the SureSight's are night and day. With a little luck I will be out in the next week practicing my marksmanship again and will be able to put the SureSights to the test. I'll update this with a range report as soon as I can. -Saryet, out!- |

Please do. I have thought about getting these, even almost to the point of buying a Steyer just to see how I do with them.
While sights for me are a bit of a problem, my bigger problem is I am SLOW..
