so when you look through these to line up and shoot....do you use the yellow dot in the middle, or do you use the tip of the triangle?

thanks

i'm still curious to find out if those who have these sights notice they are able to see an OK sight picture without fully looking at the front sight. I realize they aren't target sights, they are defensive sights. So I wouldn't expect you to get precision accuracy when shooting defensive style not looking directly at that front sight. But what's important to know, is whether you can achieve decent defensive accuracy in the way these sights were intended to be used.

As far as using the sights for target shooting, I suppose you just have to learn where the sights hit and how to aim with them to hit where you want. I don't think that any sights will do anything to change your shooting in defensive situations if you just point shoot tho. Most shooting like that is point shooting anyways. Most people never even see their sights if they have to defend themself. but I wonder if these sights are more noticed in a hasty draw and shoot drill where you don't take time to get a good sight picture.

You don't really need to "take your time" to get a good sight picture with these. It's kind of hard to explain, they naturally line up as Chaim outlined they would. I believe in a defensive situation you will definitely see these sights.
After shooting about another 300rds with them it has become a lot more natural feeling, as was mentioned these are a combat sight system, that being said I find it difficult to imagine shooting a sub compact model with a 3in barrel at 15 yards and putting all rounds into a 6in bull with 1 flyer on a dimly lit range with these sights. From a rest, yes these sights can perform like a set of target sights. Free standing you will for sure put every round in the kill zone.
As I said double taps, no problem, head shots, again no problem. I do all my shooting drawing from the weapon secured in my duty holster as I would if I had to use the weapon quickly while at work. When I shot after initially installing the sights I used my Fobus paddle as I said, but this weekend while I was on duty I snuck in some range time (SHHHH!!! ) I am going back to the range in a little while today and run some more thru it. I am going to try and create a black hole in a bull from 15yds

Worse comes to worse you can always open up a nice gash on someone's head with that front sight

WOW! What a difference! Maybe it's just my tired old (56) year old eyes, but I was having some minor problems getting the tiny white dots lined up on my stock (5" XD-45) sights. I would have to take a few seconds and pointedly and deliberately focus on the front sight to get it properly lined up with the rear sights.

No more.

I took my precious out over the weekend and let her spit out about 200 rounds while "getting used" to my new sights. It didn't even take one magazine to realize that I will never be going back to the stock sights on this XD.

Sight alignment was almost "automatic", with my brain almost unconsciously taking care of lining up the front and rear sights by completing the triangle. I did find myself "fussing" a little over the elevation dot at first, but found (after the third magazine) that unless I let it drop way down, at 10 to 25 yards, it really didn't make that much difference, all shots were still center mass.

Bottom line: I'm very glad I bought these. When/if I end up buying the new 4" compact XD I've been drooling over, I'll get a set for that gun, too.

They make a tremendous difference don't they. I am truly impressed by them and the speed of acquisition. Chaim hit a home run IMHO
What distances were you shooting?

alright, now for the big question. Holsters that work perfectly with the stock sights, how will they work with these sights?

And for point of aim... are shots hitting at the top of the triangle? And do you find yourself having to adjust your wrist angle even the slightest bit different from normal sights? Does the gun still feel as natural and pointable like it did before?

I'm sorry I was under the impression that you would have done some research on your own.

Here is the link to the Suresight web sight, it will answer the sight alignment question as well as others you may have. With exception of shooting impressions, which can be answered here in this thread.
