I really don't like serrated knive blades...they are a nightmare to sharpen!

Good deal but Grylls is such a D bag I just couldn't own anything with his name on it. How about some Les Stroud or Dave Canterbury gear...lol

They are fantastic knives though. It has some basic rescue sign stuff on the back, the sheath is nice, the knife is nice. The whistle, flint, rough sharpener, and the grip is great.

The parang has also worked out to be far better than a normal machete up in the PacNW. It handles larger limbs just a bit better than a machete does.

As a brand in general, I prefer Gerber.

wasn't a reference to price but rather quality. My last two knives were Benchmade, one S30V (943SBK Osborne) and the other M4 tool steel (810 Contego). The Gryll knives remind me of that ugly Rachel Ray cookware that people went out and bought because of the name and not quality.
