A new found respect...

I have a new found respect for anyone who can shoot a pistol and shoot it accurately. Out of two trips to the range I cant get any kind of good grouping. I thought it was gonna be easy to shoot but it isn't. It takes a whole lot of skill to shoot like Todd Jarret.

Just out of curiosity, what are you shooting?
My XD took some getting used to the trigger.
Always low and to the left at first.
My Sig shoots itself, always a good group.

Good luck..........

I'm shooting the XD(m). The trigger is way longer than I'm used to on my shotguns. Thinkin bout sending it to Springer to get it worked on. Sometimes I'll shoot spot on but most of the time it's either low or to the left. More practice is all that is gonna help me. Just wish I were old enough to take myself to the range.

Thankyou so much for posting that! I've been searching all over here for that I just couldn't find it. Just what does "Too little trigger finger" mean? I think whatever that is, that's what I'm doing wrong.

THat means not enough of your finger is on the trigger. The pad of your finger should be on the trigger, not the joint or the very tip.

Hey splitarrow,

I'm in the same boat as you being a shot gunner. My first few trips out really opened my eyes!

Get some training. Without help you will develop bad habits. Check your local range or gun club for some basic pistol classes. I started shooting bullseye. It was my first formal instruction and it taught me great trigger control and then I moved on to the tactical stuff later on when I got hired.
