I love shooting IDPA. I go to every match that I can get to. The state matches are even more fun. They are alot harder than most club matches. You should try one of these.

I am thinking about trying out IDPA after hearing a lot of positive reviews from first timers. How many magazines did you take and how many rounds did you go through?

For a given IDPA stage, 3 magazines (or 4 moon clips/speed loaders) are all that "should" be required. In some cases, such as a standards exercise, having 5 mags makes things run smoother.
Grab a gun, ammo, 5 mags, holster, 2x mag holders, eye & ear protection and a cover garment and go shoot IDPA.

My next match is this upcoming Wednesday; I'm really looking forward to it. The other night I used 2 mags (3 next time 'round) and 56 rounds. OK, I had to take a few more shots on some targets. Well, OK, a LOT more on some targets. You know for static (mostly) targets, some of 'em are really hard to hit. I think its the stealth mode.
