No, we're not opening season on LSU's campus
One of the caveats with student organizations (or, at least I was told why the last effort didn't pass) is that there needed to be female involvement. Personally, I think that's a great idea. Find me a woman who can shoot and is in pre-vet, and I'll marry her tomorrow. Wait, I already have that- I'm outnumbered about 15 to one in pre-vet gender ratios, and I'm from Louisiana Seriously though, it's a male-dominated sport- both in terms of competition and hunting. I'd like to see more young people, and especially women, going out in the field or learning to shoot competitively. I'm very afraid that my generation may be the last to have relative freedom in hunting and shooting sports. I believe that, even if you're a pacifist, tree-hugger, PETA-lover, etc. you can still enjoy plinking or target shooting, and that firearms training classes are great, even for people who don't shoot. It's probably why I try to maintain very good relations with those types of people who don't necessarily share my sardonically humorous outlook on hunting and fishing- it would give us a bad name. |
