What holster do you use for IPSC Production?

I've been debaiting for a while now if I want to replace my Blackhawk Sepa holster on my XD for Comp shooting. I like my Blackhawk alot since it was a hell of an upgrade from the XD gear holster, and that in fact I can Foward Cant the holster. I find it responseable for some of my Slow draws during IPSC matches, as sometimes i just miss click the Lock, and I'll be spending a half second sweeping my finger to unlock it. Also I had to kind of modified the blackhawk a bit after I got the Dawson Hi-rise front Fiberoptic sight.

I'm looking for something thats "Fast" on the draw and is safe for when I holster hot, and have to sprint 100meters. I don't want to worry about having to put my hand over the pistol in fear that it will fall out. That was one of the nice things about the sepa lock, worry free dispite my mags would fall out of the mag hoslters

Anyone have any experince with the DOH bladetech holsters? what you think of them.

Started USPSA shooting in 2004 in L-10 division with a Bladetech DOH. When I switched to Production division in 2007 I went with Bladetech again for my new XD. I like it. It works. Properly adjusted the gun is secure.

Ditto on the Bladetech DOH. I use this in Production with my XD9 Tac.

By far the most popular holster.

Well I don't shoot production but I do shoot a production weapon. I shoot my G17 in Limited even though there are no mods just so I can carry the full 17 rounds becuase well I don't carry any of my weapons with only 10 rounds.

But me and a buddy used a Blade Tech for one session and it held the weapon VERY seceruly and didn't have the button setup the Blackhawk does.

I still use the SERPA for USPSA shooting though.

They do make the SERPA without a lock if you like the setup of the holster though you said you had to mod you other holster to work with your sight setup so I'm not sure if you want to do that.

Imo the Bladetech DoH is a great holster. I take off the DoH and make it a belt holster for IDPA, then put it back on for Produciton. I even use a DoH for my STI Edge for Limited/3gun matches.

Mine came out of the Bladetech holster once. Make sure you test it fully loaded.

I think the best thing is to draw right away now. I have never seen the top shooters run with their pistol holstered.

Normally this isn't the case in IPSC or IDPA, but during some of the local 3 gun Comp up here in the mountains. you start of with your pistol, you hit your targets then holster hot and grab your Shotgun/rifle sprint to the next position shoot your targets, then re-engage more targets with your pistol.

Heres an example of one of the stages that I had to run in, This is on of are GM, Expert 3gun shoooters that did the stage

YouTube - Stage 1, Lake George 3 Gun Match

I repeat its not me I ran the stage in like 86 secs lol.

This one was me... lol.

Thats why I have a Bladetech for my Limited gun. I'd rather have something I can for sure run with than a Limcat or something along those lines. Not to mention I saved some money lol.
