Not sure why maybe becuase of the blow back operation.

As for the huge slides, they are there for a reason. All of hi-points designs are blowback operation. All that slide mass is necessary for the pistol to operate effectivly.

Oh Hi-Points are rated for +p and +p+ ammo.
That huge slide translates to a larger reciprocating mass that moves backwards through recoil. This is why we lighten slides, to reduce the amount of moving mass. The ideal gun is a heavier frame and lighter slide.

Give Rob Leatham a Hi-Point and he would still out-shoot every member of this board.

Some of you guys need to relax and realize a joke when it smacks you in the face......

If he wants to shoot his Ho-Point, so be it...if it was the last gun on earth and i were in a life or death situation i guess id pick it up and try it...

The carbines aren't bad...even better with an advanced tech. stock. The assumption that thugs carry hi-points was my own, not some documented fact (well, it is documented but thats besides the point).

My offer still stands, if you want to try out something else just let me know. But as far as you guys getting twisted over a joke.....chill out.

But they can't do that without moving to a locked breech design. That slide mass has to be there for the pistol to function properly. Look up "blowback operation" in Wikipedia it will explain it better than I can.

Wow, this is entertaining, and BTW Tony Stewart could outrace any of you with a Buick Regal.....

FWIW, A guy in my CCW class had a Hi Point, but he qualified with a 22 pistol. So I guess my point wasnt worth much.

Does anybody make holsters that can fit Hi-Point guns in 'em?
